Both Lemont and Stagg enter rankings that are topped by undefeated Marist and Mother McAuley.

1. Marist 8-0 (1): It’s been nothing but sheer dominance out of sophomore setter Haven Enselman as the two-time defending Class 4A state champ RedHawks are outscoring opponents 400-200.

2. Mother McAuley 8-0 (2): Jayce Prohaska and the Mighty Macs are looking forward to annual Kentucky trip this weekend to take on out-of-state powers after running the table so far.

3. Lockport 8-2 (3): An injury situation shifts Virginia commit Kyla Mitchell from middle hitter to outside for the Porters, who will get tested again at the Downers Grove South Invitational.

4. Lincoln-Way East 6-3 (4): Ashlee Palmer and the Griffins build leads late against Mother McAuley but drop 25-21, 25-21 decision in a wild nonconference match in Frankfort.

5. Providence 6-1 (5): Lily Lipke and the Celtics, who took third place last year in Class 3A, recover from loss to Carmel with a 25-18, 26-24 win over Bishop McNamara.

6. St. Laurence 9-4 (6): After a rough 25-13, 25-11 loss at Marist, Leah Romano and the Vikings put that in the rearview mirror and win five straight matches to win Evergreen Park Invitational.

7. Lincoln-Way Central 5-3 (7): Megan Hoy and the Knights are ready for five matches this week, including three in Saturday’s Wheaton Academy quad.

8. Chicago Christian 10-3 (8): Grace Gordon and the Knights are playing a tough schedule to get ready for what they hope is another big postseason run in Class 2A.

9. Lemont 7-5 (NR): Maddie Maloney, who leads the way in kills, helps her team go 5-1 after a cold start to the season.

10. Stagg 6-3 (NR): Katy Zumerchik goes to work and collects 11 of the Chargers’ 30 kills during a 19-25, 25-21, 25-12 nonconference win over T.F. South.
